TRI Partners, Inc. presents the 12th Annual NW Diversity Learning Series
Think Diversity… Act Inclusively
What is the 2010 Series about?
2010. A new decade and an ideal opportunity to expand our diversity and inclusion efforts to a new level. The diversity of thought is a dimension of diversity that impacts every other aspect of diversity. Now, more than ever, our work and personal environments are requiring us to act differently. To do that, we must add to our inclusion skill set. One method of doing that is to explore our thinking styles and expand our capability to “flex” into other styles — to maximize the results we want.

The 2010 Series will use the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument, along with its 30+ year research / database, as a cornerstone of our learning. Our first session will provide the foundational elements of the HBDI and create the link to inclusion. Thinking style will become an overlay for the remaining five sessions (a summary will be provided in each of the remaining five Series sessions) — weaving the concept into each of the remaining topics.

What are the sessions about?
Each of the Series’ six highly interactive morning education sessions will address the following questions:
1.
How does my thinking style impact my ability to act inclusively?
2.
What skills and tools are needed to achieve the desired impact and results?
3.
How do I monitor or measure the impact of my thinking on creating an inclusive environment?

What is the learning approach for the sessions?
The learning methodologies for the 12th Annual NW Diversity Learning Series will be aimed at the diverse learning styles and needs of our audience. The sessions will be experiential — adult learning theory tells us that most adults learn best by "doing." All facilitators will be guided to use a variety of methods in each session which will include — but may not be limited to — storytelling, audio presentations (i.e., music, voice), visual / video presentations (i.e., PowerPoint, DVD) and internet media, if available (i.e., YouTube). In addition, after the first session, facilitators of the remaining five sessions will include HBDI concepts into their sessions to reinforce the importance of diverse learning styles — regardless of the topic.

Each session will also include print resources and references so that participants may continue their education on the topic beyond the morning session. Sourcing of presenters will be intentionally diverse — to appeal to the diverse needs and backgrounds of our participants.
